Sirenita's Grotto:
A website of mermaids, selkies, and sirens
By Sirenita The Selkie
What Are Selkies?
Found in traditional Irish and Scottish folklore, the selkie is a cousin of the mermaid. While swimming, selkies appear as a seal, but on land they shed their seal skins to walk amongst humans!

Some common features of selkies are long brown or black hair, beautiful bodies, and webbing in between their fingers and toes.

If you find a seal at the beach who needs your help, dont hesitate! She may bring you luck on your next sea adventure.
