Summary(goodreads.com): Ariel is miserable when her father invites Countess Oystera's stuck-up, bossy daughter, Pearl, to stay at the palace. But things get much worse when Pearl discovers Ariel's secret collection of land objects and threatens to tell King Triton. Desperate for Pearl's secrecy, Ariel agrees to do anything and everything Pearl asks. But when Pearl is suddenly captured by fishermen, will Ariel put aside her bad feelings for the selfish mermaid... and help save her life.

My Review: This is another great paperback in The Little Mermaid paperback series! The novel begins with the reader peeking into one of Ariel's treasure hunts. She finds of pair of glasses, and doesn't know what to call them. She knows that the glass is see-through, so she names the item "seeshells." The reader also sees how Ariel had a fascination with humans long before she rescued Prince Eric, and how she found her famous secret grotto. Unfortunately, a sneaky little mermaid finds out about Ariel's secret.

Now, to Pearl. She is the type of girl we have all encountered in our schools; snobby, bratty, and bossy! After Pearl

discovers the grotto, she blackmails Ariel into sneaking out and doing other dangerous activities. My favorite setting element was Eel-ectric City, which resembles a mer-version of New York! Eels make up the flashing signs, and there are hundreds of merfolk and shady creatures that Pearl and Ariel encounter.

What I also enjoyed about this book was that it teaches mer-children and teens how to deal with bullying. This is a serious issue that even Ariel had to go through! Although

everything worked out for the Little Mermaid, I wish Pearl got a stricter punishment for her behavior.

I give this book (****) 4 stars.
