Halloween is just a couple of weeks away! I'm so excited. While exploring a bunch of Halloween shops and their costume aisles, I'm noticing that mermaids are becoming the new vampire! Trading fangs for seashells? Here are my top favorite places to find mermaid costumes.
1) Spirit Halloween: Mermaid Costumes and Accessories
From makeup kits, to beautiful wigs, Spirit Halloween has got your tail on what you need to be the mermaid of your dreams.
Spirit Halloween also has scaled leggings, jewelry, and costumes for little mers! This franchise seems to pop up wherever there is an empty or unused retail space, so look around your town.

2) Halloween Express: Scary and Beautiful Mermaid Costumes
Halloween Express takes a different approach on mermaids. Not only do they have gorgeous full-length mermaid costumes complete with fins, but they just introduced this scary siren costume! Cool! I love the fins on this one.
If you prefer a fantasy theme, they have a mermaid costume kit.
Makeup and accessories are also part of their mermaid line.
Similar to Spirit Halloween, these stores use vacant retail space.

3) Target: Costumes For Mermaids and Their Dogfish!
While Target's selection of mermaid costumes is limited, I found this one to be soooo pretty! I love the sequined tail, top, and tropical flowers. I think Ariel would be proud.
Not only does Target carry costumes for adults, teens, toddlers, and babies, they also have pet costumes! Now you can match with your furbaby.
Remember, if your pet isn't comfortable with the costume, don't force them to wear it. You wouldn't want someone pushing you to wear an outfit that's itchy or too tight, so don't do it to your pet.
Last time I visited Target, their Halloween section was pretty bare. Get your costume now while you can!

4) Hot Topic: Your Little Mermaid Shopping Center
If you love Ariel, then Hot Topic is your costume destination. Featuring EVERYTHING Little Mermaid, including t-shirts, shoes, jewelry, and costumes, this is a Ariel fan's heaven! I think my closet has over twenty Little Mermaid shirts... but that's a secret ;)
If you prefer the darker side (AKA Ursula) there's a costume for her too! They even have her necklace!

5) Party City: Sea Siren Collection
This year, Party City created a new collection titled Sea Siren. The collection features tons of accesories, from a trident, to crowns, and corsets. With so many accesories, this allows you to mix and match, creating your own dark sea siren. Cool!

5) Petco: The Catfish

Walmart: Unique and Affordable Mermaid Costumes
We all know that costumes are expensive, but Walmart has a variety of mermaid costumes for adults and children at affordable prices. Some of these costumes are only sold at their stores.
