Mad About Men Mermaid Movie (Miranda #2)*

Rating: NR (don’t worry. This is a clean movie with just a bit of flirting!)

Run Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Summary(imdb.com):

Gymnastics school teacher Caroline Trewella inherits a house on the Cornwall coast. In the basement/smuggler's cave, she discovers mermaid Miranda. The young women share a common ancestor and are remarkably alike in looks. While Caroline is away on a bicycling tour, Miranda has fun taking her place on land. With the help of her friend Nurse Carey, Miranda feigns an injury that keeps her wheelchair-bound... or more often needing to be carried by a man. And the ever flirtatious Miranda certainly knows how to attract all the men of the village!

My Review:

With her gorgeous blonde hair and flirtatious fins, Miranda is upto her old tricks again!

Glynis Johns did a great job of playing two different characters, especially in the same scenes. Caroline is modest and quiet and Miranda is outgoing and a known flirt. There were more swimming scenes in this movie compared to Miranda, and she was phenomenal in that beautiful green tail! The audience is also introduced to Berengaria, Miranda’s friend, who always tries to outdo whatever Miranda does. She also has a horrible singing voice but a really funny giggle!

I also enjoyed watching Miranda have fun while she’s on land by flirting with 2 different men, but when Caroline’s fiancé comes for a visit, the mischievous mermaid breaks it off for a good reason! The end scene reminded me of Splash because there was a lot of suspense when Miranda gets captured. The movie also featured beautiful shots of the Cornwall coast and some underwater cave scenes as well.

This is a charming movie for mers of all ages with a clean and funny plot!

I give this movie (*****) 5 stars.
