It's rare that serious gamers will find mermaids as the main character or focal point of a game plot. However, there are a lot of Hidden Object Games (HOGs for short) that feature many magical creatures, including mermaids!
Living Legends: Voice of the Sea starts off with stunning graphics of a vibrant coastal town about to celebrate the Neptune Festival, which honors the truce between mermaids and humans. The game starts off right away with some puzzles to warm up the player's brain, but they get progressively challenging.
The plot has similar details to The Little Mermaid except the prince rejects her. At first, we aren't sure why this happened, but we learn pieces of the story as the game progresses. Just like the original classic, a devious sea witch gets involved and stops their love. In order for the prince to keep his coastal kingdom safe, he must reject Ayrine( the main mermaid protagonist) or else the sea witch will destroy the town.
When she goes missing, her mermaid sisters think the humans killed her and put a curse on the town, so it’s upto the player to stop the curse and the witch!
I absolutely loved the mermaids in this game! Here are some screenshots:
The game has a good mix of complex and simple puzzles with an engaging plot. The ending was a bit odd and needed some explanation, but otherwise, this was a fun game with gorgeous mermaids!
I give this game 4 stars.
